I am currently a Professor and Deputy Head of Department (Research) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). I have been with NTNU since 2011. Prior to this, I served as a Senior Researcher at the University of Hamburg, Germany.
My academic journey includes a Habilitation in Informatics from the University of Hamburg in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering in 2003. I am an elected member of the Academy of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences Letters, a Fellow of the Academy of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters, and and a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association.
